The Global Journey of Words: A Connection from Hanoi and Moments of Self-Reflection 🌍
Every evening, when I sit at my computer and look at my blog’s statistics, I am filled with a unique sense of contentment and wonder. Readers from 103 different countries have read my thoughts, and today, I have gathered 161 flags on my blog.
Among these are views from 'Unknown' regions and satellite providers. While their exact locations remain a mystery, their presence is proof that words can cross any boundary and technology to reach the farthest corners of the world.
A particular highlight from this evening deeply touched me. Just about three hours ago, a reader from the beautiful and historic city of Hanoi, Vietnam, visited my blog to read an old article of mine. This piece, titled "Heavenly Bed," was originally published in 'Woman's Era' magazine (July Second, 2018 issue), which I had scanned and shared on my blog.
As I realized someone in Hanoi was reading those detailed insights on bed linens, fabrics, and thread counts after all these years, I paused and fell into deep thought. Reading my own words from the past, I began to evaluate myself. It made me reflect on how much my writing and thoughts have evolved over time.
Reading my old posts, rediscovering myself in the pages of the past, and connecting with strangers across the globe has truly become a beautiful evening ritual for me. My heartfelt gratitude to that anonymous reader in Hanoi and to all my readers worldwide for showering my words with so much love. 🙏✍️

Pink soft coral
This is pink soft coral, known as gorgonian or sea fan. These are marine organisms found in the depths of the ocean. They are sometimes used in jewelry, especially as 'sponge coral', which is filled with resin for durability. However, it is different from the hard 'red coral' gemstone typically used for astrological purposes. Astrological coral is imported from countries like Italy and Japan because the harvesting and trade of natural coral in India is strictly prohibited under the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972. Coral reefs are found in marine protected areas in India like the Gulf of Mannar and the Gulf of Kutch, where they have legal protection.
These coral ecosystems are extremely important to the environment as they provide habitat for millions of marine species, act as natural barriers for coastal protection, and support fisheries and tourism for local economies. Unfortunately, they face serious threats like ocean warming (causing bleaching), acidification, pollution, and overfishing. To mitigate these threats, the Indian government is undertaking various conservation efforts such as strict laws, artificial reefs, and community participation.
In India, jewelry studded with red coral gemstone is widely available and considered significant in Indian astrology. They are set into rings and pendants, and wearing them is believed to increase courage, confidence, and help remove the flaws associated with the planet Mars. For identification of a real and certified coral gemstone, it is always best to obtain a certificate from a reputable lab. You can also identify them by observing natural texture on the surface and the absence of bubbles. Proper care ensures the luster and longevity of your coral jewelry as it is an organic gemstone and quite delicate. Always use mild soap and lukewarm water to clean it, and avoid contact with acetone, perfumes, or other harsh chemicals. Do not expose coral to direct sunlight, extreme heat, or ultrasonic cleaners, and store it separately in a soft cloth to protect it from scratches.
