Feng Shui in Your Home Décor,HOW TO CROCHET BASIC DOLL.
My friend Punam Saahani's husband had gone to China to study on a fellowship. Last month I went to meet her at her house and saw that the decoration of her house was completely different from her earlier deco. As soon as I entered the house, I was fascinated by the smell of rat ki rani in her living room . After inquiring about her well being, my friend told that Saahani was busy with his studies and I used to learn and teach his Chinese classmates' wives about their living styles . Here I am sharing some tips about Feng suie of China.
Feng shui literally means “wind and water” in Chinese. It is an ancient Chinese system of living designed to promote the movement of “chi” (which means energy) for creating and maximizing harmony and balance in our environments. Proper feng shui allows chi to move through one’s home like a flowing river, which in turn attracts happiness, prosperity, and most importantly, health. Decorating tips used in feng shui are slightly different than the traditional decorating, but once you start using feng shui, a harmoniously decorated home is yours to enjoy!
Keep Clean and Clear
Feng Shui believes that rooms and hallways should be open and clutter-free. Any obstacle that obstructs you also obstructs chi (energy). If this cannot be avoided, the best solution, especially in a small room, is to hang a picture or painting of a landscape scene with a distant scene. This will help to symbolically broaden your horizons and create a feeling of expansiveness. A landscape scene that contains mountains is said to encourage you to aspire to lofty goals. If you choose to frame your painting, wood is the best choice for encouraging growth and expansion.
The Essential Scents
Scent is an important element of feng shui. Good feng shui practitioners always mist the entryways of their homes with a scent that creates feelings of comfort and security. This can be done by placing incense, oils or candles on a table or alter near your front door. Vanilla is a favorite aroma, as it evokes a warm and welcoming feel. During Deepawali, , try cinnamon or balsam. In the spring and summer seasons, citrus scents such as lemon or orange are best. By using aromatherapy like this, each time a visitor enters your home, he or she will feel at peace and relations in your home will improve. Consult a good book on aromatherapy for best effect, or go down to your local health food store or mall and try out different scents to see what works best for you.
Chocolate Bamboo Rug
The use of an area rug in your living room can strengthen the bonds among the people in your household. Be certain that all of the chairs and seats touch the rug. This helps to facilitate a connection between everyone who sits in your living room. This can also be done in your dining room. The rug will also serve as an element that ties in all the furniture pieces in your room. A round or oval rug will enhance harmony and unity in your home while a rectangular rug will stimulate growth. Try using a natural fiber rug made from bamboo, wood, or cotton, aaak, for best effect.
Food for thought
The dining area of our home is where we nourish ourselves and interact with family members and friends. It also has an important effect on our health, as we eat and digest our food there. There are several easy ways to improve feng shui in your dining room a few of them are:
The first is to eat some of your meals with a pair of wooden spoons, as wood encourages growth and the symbolism of “two” (as in two spoons) creates good relations with another person. The second way is to use red in your dining room’s color scheme. You don’t need to make everything red, just have it in a few places. Try a vase with red flowers, a red place mat, use red bowls or plates or just a red decorative piece on a wall.
Kitchen
The simplest way to achieve balance in the kitchen is to create a welcoming space with a layout that flows and seating that encourages the gathering of friends and family. Cheerful colors, like yellow, are perfect for a kitchen, and decor accessories and motifs featuring healthy food promote positive energy.
Living room
Most living rooms are the largest space in our homes, so you’ll want to balance the room with large furniture and accessories to slow the rushing Chi.
Bright colors are desirable for a living room, but if that isn’t your style, try neutral colors with fresh accent colors. Arrange furniture to encourage interaction and friendship.
Bedrooms
Your Feng Shui bedroom should be a relaxing retreat that provides a quiet space for rest and a space to connect with your loved one. Avoid jarring or loud artwork, accessories, and colors in the bedroom.
Pink is the suggested bedroom color for positive Chi, but it’s not a color that’s universally popular. Adding a few small accessories in a muted pink color or fresh pink flowers can promote romantic energy in your bedroom.
Bathroom
Feng Shui in your bathroom should focus on balancing the water element. Blue and green are popular bathroom colors, along with shiny surfaces and metal, which all represent the Feng Shui Water element. Because the activities in your bathroom are primarily water-based, it’s easy to see how your bathroom’s energy gets totally out of balance.
To balance the abundance of water energy, (which can soak up Chi and make it heavy,) add elements of wood and warm colors. You can also add candles to your bathroom to bring the fire element to warm it up.
These were some feng sui tips I saw on my friend's home on her return from China. You can also try them and enjoy!
